What are the cosmetology grants?
- Pell Grants
Pell Grants are federal grants that are given to pupils through their participating schools and associations. The Pell Grants are based on financial need that’s dependent on completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

In order to receive the grant, Non-Pell Grant eligible African American students must meet the admissions requirements of the Empire Education Group.

- Future Salon Professional Scholarship
Geared toward students who have been or are residents of the child’s Peace Facility, the Empire Kids Peace Educational Endowment provides endowments five times annually to time cosmetology students. Students must meet admission requirements and must provide confirmation from the child’s Peace Facility they were citizens of their center. This information can include the Facility Representative, Facility Supervisor, or an individual counselor.
- Empire Offers Back Cosmetology Educational Endowment Program
This endowment application was launched to assist residents of shelters in attending any of their Empire Beauty Schools situated across the nation to receive instruction in the cosmetology program. The program is also one of the ways that the Empire Beauty Schools give back to the community.
The Empire Gives Back Cosmetology Educational Endowment Program awards one endowment Each Year. The shield residents should provide confirmation from their facility they have been a resident over the last 6 months prior to application.
- National Educator Scholarship
The National Educator Scholarship has been created to encourage students registered in the Educator Training Program. Also referred to as the Gloria Sidell Scholarship provides scholarships for students who’ve finished Empire Education Group’s Cosmetology/Hairstyling Program. Students must have an application on file for the State board permit and have satisfactory attendance of at least 75% and satisfactory academics of at least 80%.

CND provides a scholarship for cosmetology students following a nail only app. One $500 scholarship is awarded to a student attending an AACS associate college. - Dream Shears/Trade Essentials Scholarship
The American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) sponsors the Dream Shears/Trade Essentials Scholarship program that awards several $500 scholarships.
A 500-800 word typed essay that outlines their financial requirement and their livelihood goals for cosmetology is also demanded.
- Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts Makeup Scholarship
For individuals wanting to pursue an education for a makeup artist, the Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts Makeup Scholarship is targeted to them. - Pat Goins Memorial Scholarship Program

- Vernon’s Kansas School of Cosmetology Grants
Grants for students following a cosmetology education can be found at Vernon’s Kansas School of Cosmetology. The faculty is situated in Wichita, Kansas. Awardees receive grants depending on the student’s financial need and personal background.
- Cal Grants and Competitive Awards
Several different grant applications are available from the State of California through its California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) for undergraduate students that are residents of California. Grant A, B, and C Programs offer funds that may range up to $9700 for tuition and fees.
The Cal Grant C Program is geared towards community and vocational schools which encompasses many of the institutions in California who have the Cosmetology curriculum. The Cal Grant C award is $576 and can be applied toward books, equipment, and tools. The Cal Grant B Competitive Award requires students to have a minimum 2.0 GPA and come in disadvantaged and low-income households. The program of study has to be at least one year in length to meet the requirements for this award.
- Oregon Barber and Hairdresser (B&H) Grant Program
The Oregon Barber and Hairdresser (B&H) Grant Program provides financial aid to residents of Oregon who are attending or may attend a licensed school of cosmetology, barbering, hair design, or manicure in Oregon. The program must also take part in Federal Title IV financial applications. Students must be registered full-time in apps that are at least nine weeks long.
The one-time awards are targeted more towards students with compelling financial requirements. Students are able to apply for (B&H) Grant Program grants by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
- Casal Aveda Institute Scholarship Contest
The Casal Aveda Institute Scholarship Contest is provided to pupils that finish the application and write an essay to receive one annual award in Cosmetology and a single award in Esthiology. The program also contains several questions that are utilized to help determine the scholarship winner.
